Kyra Minton Sedgwick was born in New York City. She is an American actress. Her fan base is large in America and across the world for her role as an actress in the TV The Closer.' Sedgwick had a passion for the arts, Broadway and performing since at the age of 12. Her mother was a huge fascination with the Broadway and encouraged her to go to the show. Sedgwick's debut acting gig was in a television show named 'Another World. It was when she was just aged 16. It was her desire to become a well-known actor and not only small-screen part that attracted Sedgwick initially. Her name was spotted on the big-screen for the first time with her role as a supporting actress in the movie 'Born on the Fourth of July', in which she starred along with Tom Cruise. They were married when she was just 22. Sedgwick was a star in American television thanks to her impressive performance on "The Closer" the seven-season T.V. series which won her the Golden Globe Award and Emmy.
